​Trump and Republican extremists have co-opted the symbols and language of patriotism as weapons against those Americans who believe in a country of liberty, equality and justice for all. The Resistance and Progressives must reclaim them. If we do not, we will surrender a powerful motivational emotion to the people who seek to destroy the values and ideals we believe in. We will eventually forget that those who oppose Donald J. Trump's agenda and the Republicans' narrow vision of racist, regressive and exclusionary nationalism - are the true Patriots.  ​
